Create Spanish facturas in euros with 21% IVA applied automatically. Every field required by Spanish law is included — switch to 10% or 4% for line items that qualify.
The official currency is the EUR (EUR, symbol €). The generator above is already set to EUR, and you can switch currency at any time.
Spanish IVA is 21% standard, 10% reduced (hospitality, transport, some food) and 4% super-reduced (bread, milk, books, newspapers, medicines).
Registration: Businesses must register for IVA via Modelo 036/037 with the Agencia Tributaria before starting activity.
The local business tax identifier is the NIF / CIF (VAT ID: ES + NIF/CIF). Include it on your invoice when required.
Numbers must be sequential within the calendar year. Multiple series are permitted (for example one per branch or client) but each must remain sequential.
Spain distinguishes a "factura completa" (full invoice) from a "factura simplificada" (simplified invoice), which can generally be issued for amounts up to €400 including VAT (up to €3,000 in specific cases such as retail and hospitality). Spain is also rolling out mandatory B2B e-invoicing and the VERI*FACTU anti-fraud billing-software system under Royal Decree 238/2026 and the Ley Crea y Crece — the effective dates depend on business size. B2G invoicing via FACe has been mandatory for years. Confirm the current status with the Agencia Tributaria.

The standard rate is 21%. Reduced is 10% (restaurants, transport, some foods) and super-reduced is 4% (bread, milk, books, newspapers, medicines).
To invoice as an individual you must generally register as autónomo (self-employed) with Social Security and file Modelo 036/037 with the Agencia Tributaria. There are limited exemptions.
A simplified invoice can generally be issued for amounts up to €400 including VAT (up to €3,000 for certain retail and hospitality transactions) and requires less detail than a full factura. Above these thresholds a full factura is required.
B2G invoices via FACe have been mandatory for years. B2B e-invoicing is being rolled out under the Ley Crea y Crece, alongside the VERI*FACTU billing-software requirements introduced by Royal Decree 238/2026. The mandatory dates depend on business size. Confirm at agenciatributaria.gob.es.
Invoices and accounting records must be kept for at least 6 years for commercial purposes, and 4 years for most tax purposes.
