Invoice requirements

  • Your business name, address and NIPT
  • The customer's name, address and NIPT (if a business)
  • A unique, sequential invoice number
  • The invoice date and date of supply
  • A description, quantity and unit price of each item
  • The VAT rate and amount per line
  • The subtotal, VAT total and total due

Tax identifier

The local business tax identifier is the NIPT (10-character taxpayer number). Include it on your invoice when required.

Invoice numbering

Invoice numbers must be sequential within the fiscal year. Since fiscalization, every invoice also receives a unique identifier (NIVF) from the tax administration.

Local notes

Albania has fully implemented fiscalization under Law 87/2019: B2G invoices to public institutions have been electronic since 1 January 2021, and B2B/B2C invoices have been required through the Central Invoicing Platform since 1 July 2021. Every fiscalized invoice is transmitted in real time to the tax administration, which returns a NIVF and NSLF to be printed on the invoice. A plain PDF from this generator is not, by itself, a fiscalized electronic invoice.
